In 1960, several area residents decided to form a historical society for Washington Township.  Christian Lanner, former mayor of the township, was elected the first president.

The foremost objective of the historical society is to bring together people interested in the history of our community.  It gives us a better appreciation of our state and nation, and helps us realize true value of our heritage.

Join us - Interested individuals and/or families are welcome to join any time.  Please fill out our simple membership form and follow directions to mail it or bring it to the museum.  The requested information may also be sent via email and a payment check mailed separately.  We do not accept credit/debit cards.

Membership in the Society is open to general public.  Meetings are held at the Museum on third Tuesday evening of each month (except July and August).

Honorary Members - Honorary membership is conferred upon persons who make exceptional contributions to the objectives of the society.  Honorary members are:  Virginia Allen, Stan Andrews (deceased), Dorothy Brahney, Keith Cronshey (deceased), Mary Darter, Dominic Puleo, Martha Puleo, Gertrude Taylor.
